
Astronomer Seth Shostak believes that we should be looking out for signs of an extraterrestrial artificial intelligence.The Seti astronomer believes that the time between an alien civilization developing radio communications and artificial intelligence would be quite short and that we should be keeping an eyeout for evidence of intelligent machines.
A senior astronomer has said that the hunt for alien life should take into account alien "sentient machines". Seti, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, has until now sought radio signals from worlds like Earth.
