A previously unreleased film of President John F Kennedy's motorcade has revealed new details of the final moments before his assassination. The silent film shows the president and his wife Jackie shortly before the fatal shot was fired. Amateur photographer George Jefferies held onto the film for more than 40 years believing it was unimportant. But Dallas museum curator Gary Mack says it is bound to provide new fuel to the conspiracy theorists. The film shows the president's coatbunched up on his back - a detail some will see as evidence that the bullet wounds on the president's body did not match those on his jacket.

The film also shows "the clearest, best film of Jackie in the motorcade", says Mr Mack. Also visible is secret service agent Clint Hill, riding on the back of the car. After the shots were fired, Mr Hill jumped onto the back of the vehicle and drove with it to the hospital. The new film only came to light when Mr Jefferies mentioned it in conversation to his son-in-law, Wayne Graham, who persuaded him to donate it to themuseum. Mr Mack said: "Everyone who captured the motorcade before the assassination thinks their pictures are unimportant. But to historians, all photos and home movies are important to possibly answer questions that will be asked in the future. "I've already seen the footage on a conspiracy web site." New information has come to light that suggests Diana may have been killed by a member of the military.Scotland Yard are currently investigating the sensational new claim which was allegedly passed to them through military sources. The exact nature of the events that lead to the deaths of the Princess of Wales and Dodi al Fayed in 1997 have been the subject of conspiracy theories for years. The official verdict of "unlawful killing, grossly negligent driving of the following vehicles and ofthe Mercedes" has been rejected by some as a coverup for something a lot more sinister.Despite the nature of the new claim, Scotland Yard have no plans to reopen the original investigation but may open a new one if the evidence provided turns out to be significant.

It isn"t known exactly who is being implicated and how such a murder would have been carried out without being picked up on at the time by investigators who spent several years looking in to the circumstances surrounding the case. "The information, thought to include theallegation that the Princess of Wales, Dodi al Fayed and their driver were killed by a member of the British military, will be assessed by officers from the Specialist Crime and Operations Command."

A meeting of the secretive Bilderberg group this week has been met with suspicion and intrigue. The Bilderberg group consists of a number of influential figures who meet on an annual basis for a private conference to which only a select few individuals are invited. The exact nature and purpose of these meetings has been a matter of some debate for years, leading to criticisms and conspiracy theories that include the suggestion that the group meet up to discussplans for a New World Order. This week"s meeting is no exception, with protestors gathering to express their anger over the secretive nature of the talks.

Cries of "What have they got to hide?" and "Why are we funding this?" have been a staple of the public"s condemnation for years. Whether the Bilderberg group will ever change its policy and allow the media in to the meetings to report on what"s being said however, seems at least for the moment, highly unlikely. "On a sunny day, on the edge of acountry hotel estate, 18 miles from central London, people are gathering - not for the usual summer music festival or indeed to enjoy the weather but to protest."

What are the factors that contribute to an individual"s belief in a particular conspiracy theory ?Far from being the beliefs of a few fringe theorists, conspiracies are more widespread today than they"ve ever been. A national poll released last month indicated that as many as 37 percent of Americans believed that global warming is a hoax, 28 percent that the world is under threat from a New World Order and 21 percent were under the impression that the government is concealing evidence ofextraterrestrial visitation.

But what is it that leads to such beliefs ?In a recent study, psychologists Micheal Wood, Karen Douglas and Robbie Suton suggested that belief in a conspiracy theory is not so much down to the specifics of the actual theory but pertains more to higher-order beliefs that lead to conspiracy-like thinking - an ideological lens through which the world is viewed. Those who generally distrust authority figures for instance are more likely to believe in conspiracies than those who don"t. "Did NASA fake the moonlanding? Is the government hiding Martians in Area 51? Is global warming a hoax? And what about the Boston Marathon bombing…an “inside job” perhaps?."
