Air rods, also called "flying rods" and "sky fish," are something like crop circles in that even the skeptics admit they exist. The only question is what they really are. Invisible to the eye, they are picked up by cameras all over the world. Are they living creatures, alien probes, or some sort of 3D electromagnetic smudge? To believers in the cryptozoology-based theory of air rods, air rods are probably living creatures, and they are possibly related to older stories of atmospheric beasts. To skeptics, air rods are bits of flying debris, insects or birds filmed under unusual conditions, or blips on film that are due to errors in film processing.

Air rods were discovered in the 1990s. People found that some films of all types, ranging from home videos to movies seen in theaters, had odd disturbances that looked something like blurry rods that were mostly transparent, occasionally whitish in color. Most of these disturbances were fast-moving and barely visible to the eye. These rods showed up best against large areas of the same color, such as the sky.

The people who examined films for anomalies of this sort started calling what they did "sky fishing" because they usually started by looking at the areas of sky that were visible in films. They found that these rods were widespread. Countless films had them lurking almost imperceptibly in the corners, including old television shows, movies, films of sporting events, almost everything imaginable. There were simply too many examples to study them all, running into the thousands or tens of thousands. There were also air rods visible in photographs, but these were hardly studied at all for reasons that will become clear below. Close study of air rod films revealed a number of very interesting features. As these rods zoomed about, they displayed all the features of three-dimensional objects. In other words, they were not two-dimensional blotches on the camera lens or on the film itself, but something out there in the environment that was actually being filmed by accident...

Submarines : Mr. Krapiva attended lectures given by veteran officers of Soviet nuclear-powered submarines. They had served in the Soviet North, in secret naval installations and bases. The lectures sometimes veered off the planned presentations, and many spellbinding tales were told. For instance, episodes when Soviet sonar-operators (military hydroacoustics technicians) were "hearing" (at great depths) strange "targets". Their submarines were actually being chased by other "submarines". The pursuers changed their speed at will -- speeds that were much faster than any other similar vessel in the world at that time Lieutenant-Commander Oleg Sokolov confidentially informed the students that while he was on duty during his submarine's navigation, he had observed through a periscope an ascent of some strange object through the water. He was not able to identify it, because he viewed it through the optical system of the periscope. This underwater "take off" took place in the early 1960's. A few years ago V.V. Krapiva met with Professor Korsakov of the Odessa University. Professor Korsakov told him of a conversation he had with a friend of his, a Soviet Navy officer who had served at the Sevastopol Naval base. Back in the 1950's this officer personally sighted a UFO. Many reports of UFO encounters made by single individuals are often given little weight by most investigators. However, when that one person is of high esteem and credibility, the case is given much weight. Such is the case with an Alien encounter that occurred in 1950 in South America. The lone witness was Dr. Enrique Caretenuto Botta, who passed his incredible story on to Horacio Gonzales G. in Caracas at a UFO conference in 1955.Dr. Botta would soon give permission to Horacio G. to relate the story to famed UFO researcher Leon Stringfield. The researcher would release the details of the Botta encounter in his book, "Situation Red." At the time of the encounter, Dr. Botta was a man of 40 years old. He was well educated and respected by all who knew him. He was an ex-war pilot and aeronautical engineer. He was employed as an architectural engineer working with a well known company in Caracas in 1950. His job had placed him in Argentina working on a large construction project when he would be involved in the most bizarre event of his life.

Botta was driving down the highway about seventy-five miles from his hotel in an isolated area known as Bahia Blanca when he saw a metallic, disc-shaped object sitting on the grass just off the road way. He stopped his car to watch the object for a few minutes to see what would happen. After seeing no sign of movement, he decided to get even closer to the unknown object. This vantage point allowed him to see an opening or doorway in the object's side. He decided to go inside. At first the craft's inside seemed empty, except for a blinking red light in a domed top. As he ventured farther inside, he saw a curved divan with four seats; three of these seats were occupied with small beings about four feet tall with gray, tight-fitting overalls. The three small creatures were facing a control panel. It consisted of lights, gauges, and meters of different types. Standing quietly behind them, Botta could not resist the urge to touch one of the small beings. As he did, he felt a rigid, charred texture. The three strange creatures were dead! All within a moment, he rushed from the saucer, got into his car, and was speeding down the highway.

A former employee of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration reveals how NASA covers up and erases UFOs from satelite photos. But first a little bit about this former employee: DONNA TIETZE HARE Formerly of NASA, female slide technician, the recipient of numerous space awards including 1969 Apollo Achievement award from the National Aeronautics & Space Administration, 1973 Skylab award, a medallion for success on the Skylab-Suez Test project, numerous other awards for her skill as a technical Artist, honors, awards and a 1994 reccomdation by Texas Governor Ann Richards to the Advisory Committee of Psychology Associates.

Donna Tietze has spent most of her professional life involved in the Space Program as a technical illustrator. She drew lunar maps, landing slides, she worked in the photo lab, Precision Slide Lab, reducing art work to one inch by one inch drawings. She drew launch sites, landing sites and was employed as a sub-contractor to NASA for over 15 years. She worked on flight manuals for astronauts & has the wonderful ability to put words into images but uniquely, learn to do everything backwards, including mathematical computations, the writing of words, to put it simply, this woman has seen just about all the different kinds of images one could see that are used in Space Programs.

Even though the US Government continually maintains that UFO's do not pose any threat to National Security, the following text will prove otherwise. The US Government put out a training manual titled "Fire Officer's Guide to Disaster Control" by William M. Kramer, Ph.D, & Charles W. Bahme, j.D, 1992. The manual is given to all potential fire fighting cadets, and is 700 pages long. Chapter 13 is titled "Enemy Attack and UFO Potential". It is abundantly clear that UFO's are taken very serious, hence the training of fire fighting cadets on how to deal with the situation when face with a UFO.

Why the Secrecy?: In their book "UFO's Over America", authors Jim and Carol Lorenzo charge that the CIA have been closely involved in the collection and suppression of UFO information. "Witnesses to the phenomena has been bribed, coerced, and threatened by the CIA, who wanted valuable evidence given to them alone. One reason given is that Military intelligence may view the UFO's as a tool of either a known or unknown potential enemy. If these vehicles prove evasive and surreptitious all the more reason to suspect them. The probability looms large that the minds behind these vehicles may well be gathering intelligence of their own.

Another reason for secrecy may lie in the hope of obtaining knowledge relating to advanced propulsion methods and anti-gravity systems before other potential enemies on earth may acquire it. Hence, though many nations are secretly investigating UFO's, they are reluctant to share their findings. Major Donald Kehow describes in his book "Aliens from Space, The Real Story of Unidentified Flying Objects" the difficulties he had in 1957 in trying to get the truth from government agencies after he was Director of NICAP, the world's largest UFO research organization with over 30 subcommittees in the U.S. and abroad. According to some UFOlogists the attempts at cover-up by the CIA extent to destruction of evidence that it could not confiscate. Apparently some of our nation's important leaders have been denied access to some UFO secrets in the possession of an agency of the United States, the very existence of which is classified above top secret...

Summary: This article will now look at many different stories of crashed aerial vehicles of unknown origin that occurred over a period of more than a century. Curiously, these events appear to be related in one striking manner. During the course of my studies into UFO waves, I discovered that a significant number of reported UFO crashes appeared to occur during or near waves or flaps that related to a cycle determined to have been 3.19 years in length. A Cyclic Period that Correlates with Alleged UFO Crash Retrievals A Possible Aid to Determining True Events of the Past and in the Future? In the August and September 1998 issues of the MUFON UFO Journal, UFO investigators Bob Pratt and Cynthia Luce presented valuable information related to the Varginha, Brazil, ET capture story that began in January 1996. This may have been the biggest and best-known story of an apparent UFO crash in recent years; it is, however, unlikely to be the last.

UFO skeptics have pointed out that if aliens were visiting our planet in numbers sufficient to account for all of the reported UFO sightings and purported alien abductions, then there should be evidence of a significant number of accidental crashes of alien vehicles upon the earth. There have been, in point of fact, a good number of reported crashes of UFOs that go back to at least the 1880s in the United States. My research also shows that half of the crash reports come from outside the U.S., going back no further than the 1940s. One factor that may have stood in the way of proving the occurrence of such dramatic events is quite possibly the intervention of covert government agencies, which wish to shield the population from gaining such knowledge. Every follower of the UFO phenomena is familiar with the Roswell incident. At first, I considered this report might have been a staged or "red herring" event that evolved from the military's need to throw people off the scent of a true experience occurring elsewhere. But then came the Santili autopsy film. Included in the information surrounding its release was a report from the cameraman, which stated the crash event had occurred in May of 1947...
