
A new order of service has generated significant controversy by rendering God genderless.The change made by the Scottish Episcopal Church involves the removal of all references to God as male such as "him" and "lord" in order to emphasise that God is "beyond humangender".
Episcopalian bishops have approved the introduction of more "inclusive" language, which deliberately removes references suggesting that God is of male gender.
