Anthony Bragalia puts forward his views on the Nazi UFOs phenomenon, the concept that the Germans developed and flew a number of disc-shaped craft during World War 2. How credible is this claim ?" A very disturbing theme recurs from time to timein the UFO literature.

Some maintain that Nazi scientists had perfected advanced aerial craft including "flying saucers" - both in Germany during WWII and as captured "Paperclip" scientists in the US. This supposed Nazi technology is seen by these "researchers" as the genesis of early man-made UFOs. Even now it is seen by some as the reason for today's state-of-the-art"Dreamland" flying machines- or even as the true cause of the Roswell crash!"

A set of top secret orders for naval captains during the D-Day landings have turned up in an attic. The document should have been destroyed after the invasion of Normandy but instead turned up decades later in a chest in a loft. The orders were issued to Lieutenant Alexander North Hardy, the skipper of a minesweeper vessel operating off the coast of France in 1944. Hardy had kept the document up untilhis death in 1978, after which it had ended up being stored along with other family documents in the home of one of his daughters."The front page says it should be "destroyed by fire on completion of the operation"," said Hardy"s son-in-law.

"But it seems my father in law didnít have a fire available at the time." "The inch-thick document - which should have been destroyed at the end of the Normandy invasion - gives a detailed account of thenavyís role in the landings."

Bomb disposal experts were soon on the scene and took it to a deserted beach nearby whereit was discharged in an explosion that left a large crater in the sand and that could be heard two miles away."I"m glad I found it when I did," said Southall.

"I wouldn"t have wanted it going off while I was in bed upstairs." The bomb disposal team told him that the device had contained 16lbs of explosives. "A man showing his family around his new home in Gwynedd found anunexploded bomb in his kitchen cupboard."

A secret project during World War II sought to develop a way to use tsunamis as a deadly weapon.Known as "Project Seal", the weapon would have been used to attack enemy cities by generating tsunamis on demand. Both New Zealand and the United States conducted underwater testing that suggested the concept was feasible. Ultimately however the idea was shelved indefinitely a few months before the first atomic bomb was dropped on Japan in 1945.Theplans for the weapon were discovered by New Zealand author and filmmaker Ray Waru.

"I came across actually by chance a series of Project Seal reports that were made a long time after the war that were sitting on the desk of a man who was vetting military material," he said. "Over a period of several months they carried out almost 4,000 test explosions to kind of calibrate the size of the explosions, the number of explosions and the depth of the explosion in the water needed in order to create atsunami effect." It"s been revealed that the United States and New Zealand conducted secret tests in the 1940s of a "tsunami bomb" designed to inundate coastal cities.
