
Leading researchers have warned that homeopathy is not only ineffective but potentially dangerous.Homeopathy involves the use of remedies produced by diluting a substance so many times that there is little to nothing left of it. Many argue that the resulting mixture contains so little of the original substance that it can"t possibly do any good. Now this sentiment is being joinedby concerns that people using these alternative medications could be in danger because they are foregoing proper medical care.
Edzard Ernst, Professor of Complementary Medicine at Exeter University, said homeopathic remedies had not been proven to work in clinical trials. People who still maintain the treatments are effective are "ignoring or misrepresenting the best evidence available",he added.
