
Engineer Garry Lavin has come up with a new theory involving the use of wicker basket constructions.Up until now it has been believed that the massive blocks were transported by rolling themon logs, Mr Lavin however has come up with an alternative theory - that the blocks were wrapped up and rolled along inside a wicker cage instead.
Mr Lavin hopes the project will expand people"s understanding of those who lived in Britain over 5,000 years ago. He says he wants to "put some flesh on a society whose achievements rival or maybe even surpass those ofthe very familiar Romans in Britain".
