Kepler-22b is at just the right distance from its star for liquid water to exist on its surface. It is one of the most tantalising and promising planet discoveries ever made, with the Earth-like world being a prime candidate for life. NASA announced the new find along with the discovery of over 1,000 other planets orbiting distant stars by theKepler space telescope bringing its total quota up to 2,326 extrasolar worlds.
