
The Kepler space telescope has discovered its first extrasolar planets. Collecting data on over 50,000 stars during its callibration period the telescope was confirmed to be sensitive enough to pick up Earth-like planets around distant stars."The planet-hunting Kepler space telescope has found its first extrasolar planets: three alien worlds that had been previously discovered with ground-based telescopes."
