
A lack of recent sightings of the Loch Ness monster has prompted speculation that the creature, if it existed, might now be dead.The head of the official Loch Ness monster fan club has however denied rumours that the creature could have died due to a sighting that was reported last summer.The Loch Ness monster remains the most well known lake monster legend in the world and while thousands of tourists flock to Scotland each year tocatch a glimpse of it most experts remain doubtful that a large unknown creature really exists in the dark, cold waters of the Loch.
A new documentary examines the possibility that the monster might be extinct as its reported appearances become increasingly rare. Gary Campbell, president of the Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club, said only one sighting, made just off the Clansman Hotel on 6th June, 2009, was judged by him to have been acredible report.
