The Symbolism of the Pentagram

The five points of the pentagram represent the four elements plus spirit. They may be represented with the following colors: Air = Yellow, Water = Blue, Earth = Green, Fire = Red, Spirit = Violet

This article goes in conjunction with my first piece titled "Overview of Secret Societies," of 2005. This is the second part of several articles on shadow groups and symbols. All the secret societies, particularly the Inner Circle, are involved in all or in some aspect of hidden agendas, and all have their own symbology. The Power Elite or just the "Elite" are the deep core, decision-makers of the combined various societies.Symbols and signs, which are used as a means of communication among society members, also serve to represent a thought — called ideograms — and behave in a manner that allows all members to know who belongs to which societies. Freemasonry is perhaps the best example of a society that employs symbols as well as physical contact signals, such as specific handshakes or hand formations as seen in the sign of the Diablo.Below are several examples of all too many symbols, and no doubt, others exist that we don't even know about, or just aren't included here because of their lack of relevance. Succeeding articles will include many more symbols.From the era of Antiquity and on, signs, symbols, numerology, and societies have been a major part of civilization. When symbols or signs are put together in a certain way, they form a picture or a message, so they serve as the building blocks of communications. There are also other ways to commune, such as through body language, but symbols are a part of every society, and most are derived from the intent to represent something else or to depict a private message, a meaning buried in innocent images to convey something other than what they seem to be. Some messages with their symbols are intentional; others appear inoffensive at a glance but have subtle hidden meanings, perhaps so minuscule that unless you know the organization, you may never notice or understand the message as the Elite do.Subliminal messages and symbols have always been a hallmark of subversive or shadow groups, and they represent a reality and a system of their own. For example, Freemasonry (such as the tools of stonemasons), and witchcraft (the pentagram, as one example) have a very high number of symbols — some are numbers — that distinguish who they are and what they believe. Anthony North: Sacred geometry is an ancient system of design and building based upon the harmonic relationship between man, nature and the universe. Virtually ignored by modern architects and designers, it was central to most ancient societies. The practice concerns a worldview of pattern recognition, producing religious patterns and structures involving space, time and form. By working with such forms, insight can come regarding the nature of all. It often involves mathematics.: Pythagoras realized the importance of this, and also showed how such harmonies work also with music. Hence, sacred geometry is a holistic practice. Even in ancient cave art, it is now known that pictures were drawn at idealplaces for sound amplification.

These principles seem to have been instinctual in ancient times, but science is also discovering such harmonies. Indeed, it has led some to wonder at the incredible coincidences of exact balance that led to the universe in the first place. Sacred design is therefore a reflection of the universe.: In this sense, perfection is vital to the process. Originally found in man"s expression of his relationship with Mother Earth, we find the earth mound. Later, math led to greater perfection in the pyramid, or other construction that aligned with the solstice dawn. However, an understanding of this harmonic relationship can often cause too much complication in just what sacred geometry is about. I say this because ancient man seemed to realize such relationships, and design accordingly, throughinstinct. The urge to perfection was just as great.: But such perfection was more about symbolism than mathematical design. It seemed to be more a physical representation of the spiritual, as is seen even today in the "form" of a church. Shaped as a cross, when you walk into a church, you actually walk into the body of Christ. Bearing this in mind, could it be that there is a far more important psycho-sociological understanding to be had from sacred geometry? I think there is -and an understanding that can tell us a great deal about ourselves, even today.

Forget dressing for success: Clothing ornaments thought to confer supernatural power were all the rage among chiefs and other important people in England 4,000 years ago, say scholars. A recent find indicates some of these fashion trends might have originally been designed by Stonehenge leaders.While working two months ago in South Lowestoft, Suffolk, British archaeologist Clare Good excavated a four-sided object made of the mineral jet. It closely matches a geometrically designed gold object found far away at a burial site called Bush Barrow near Stonehengein Wiltshire.

The match is so close that experts believe the black artifact is a skeuomorph, or a copy in a different material.Good, who is with the Suffolk County Archaeology Service, told Discovery News that she made the discovery while investigating the remains of a probable funeral pyre dating to 1900-1700 B.C. The funeral pyre, she said, is "a normal sort of feature we come across every day while out digging." She thinks someone placed goods, including a flint knife, pottery and the jet object, inside the pit after the body was burned. The findings are documented in the current issue of British Archaeology. Editor Mike Pitts describes the jet object ashaving "two parallel lines around the edge, supporting 12 pendant semi-circles inside with a double circle and dot in the center. Small floating lines of rocker decoration, some on the side facets, complete the design.""Rocker" refers to the rocking motion that the artist likely used when carving, drawing or chiseling out the design.
