
A new structure has been discovered in England that has no typical Roman era building characteristics.Archaeologists have discovered a Roman era structure in the Norfolk area of England that has no known parallels to any other buildingsfrom that same time period.
"Generally speaking, [during] the Roman Empire people built within a fixed repertoire of architectural forms," said professor William Bowden. "What they were trying to achieve by using this design is really very difficult to say." A recently discovered mysterious "winged" structure in England, which in the Roman period may have been used as a temple, presents a puzzle forarchaeologists, who say the building has no known parallels.
