Police in Wales have launched a hunt for a mysterious recluse who lives deep in local woodland and who has been connected to a series of thefts in the area. Nicknamed "Wolfman", he has so far managed to elude all attempts at capture."He ekesout a solitary existence deep in the woods, surviving by snaring rabbits and foraging for berries.
But when nature alone cannot satisfy his needs, the shaggy bearded recluse will leave his lair and, with the stealth of a wild animal, go on the prowl for other prey in the nearby villages. Locals call him "The Wolfman" and blame him for a series of thefts of milk from their doorsteps. "

We've all heard the werewolf legends: When the moon grows full, so goes the legend, a man is transformed into a beast — he grows hair, and acquires awesome powers. But what if it weren't the light of the moon but rather genetics that gave the werewolves of legend all that hair? The powers, though, remain the stuff of myth. For Danny Ramos Gomez, 23, genetics is the reason people call him "the wolf man." Danny has a condition called hypertrichosis, which causes his body to produ...Man who is 'werewolf' to stand trial

The interest to the werewolf issue seems to be in...How to explain the werewolf ?
Anthony North: A werewolf is said to be a person who, at times, turns into a wolf-like beast. Often occurring during the full moon, the term "lunacy" is closely associated with the state. But is there a reality to the werewolf? We actually know a great deal about them. This is because there have been many trials of werewolves in the past, usually executed for attacks on young children or lonely travelers in the forests. Misidentification is an obvious possibility here.: Wolves used to roam our f...Werewolf in Literature
A vivid
description of King Lycaons metamorphosis was given in later centuries by Ovid,
the Roman poet. With this tale, the werewolf entered popular literature that
provided plenty of eerie accounts. It held the
attention of medieval literature for almost three centuries. Certain peoples
of Poland and Lithuania were widely regarded as sorcerers who turned themselves
temporarily into wolves once a year. Similar ritualistic transformation seems to
echo in the tales of Livonia des...
