Tarot Cards

The tarot cards are some of the most fascinating tools that occult practitioners and fortune tellers use. Anyone who has ever consulted a fortune teller will have the experience of gazing into those strange but very artistic works of art. What is the tarot? What are its uses? Are they good or evil? The tarot (pronounced t-a-r-o) is a set of 78 cards. They are traditionally grouped into two sections: the Major Arcana, which is composed of 22 cards and the Minor Arcana, which consists of 56 cards. The Major Arcana contains illustrations, which depict various archetypal patterns. Some of the images are haunting, others are very strange. Some willbe familiar to the common man, others are uncommon.

They are very beautiful works of art.The key to understanding the tarot is to view them as archetypal hieroglyphs. The ancient masters who conceived of them needed a tool to explain the archetypes of humanity, their spiritual significance and practical applications. Putting them into visual form had the added advantage of crystallizing the spiritual insights and rendering them into an instrument that can be easily appreciated by people from all walks of life. The tarot originally consisted only of the 22 cards of the Major Arcana. But through time, the four suits of the Minor Arcana came to be added. Thus, a tarot deck nowconsists of 78 cards. Additionally, the Minor Arcana also evolved into a playing deck. Thus, the regular playing deck of cards is really an evolution of the Minor Arcana section of the Classical Tarot. What are the uses of the tarot?Firstly, the tarot is really a tool for meditation. The various cards of the tarot are exceptional pieces of art that can stimulate the higher spiritual faculties of man. For example, the Major Arcana has cards like the Fool, the Star, the Hermit, the Lovers and the Hanged Man, which can arouse one's spirituality and stimulate the production of spiritual insights.Secondly, the tarot is a tool for insight development.Thirdly, they are instruments for divination. The tarot cards are usually used by fortunetellers for divination purposes. But that is not their main use. Because ofd......

How to explain destiny

Anthony North: We"ve all heard of destiny, but what is it? Is it some guiding force within the universe looking after us, or is it a total fantasy? As often happens, ideas on the subject fall into one camp or the other. But maybe most sense lies in the middle ground. If we were to adopt this position, then we"d have to accept that a "force" DOES have an effect upon our lives, but rather than being some omnipotent supernatural influence, it could be grounded in things we have a fair idea about.
