
Most people have heard of the Loch Ness Monster, but few know about the Congo"s Mokele-mbembe.Rumoured to live in the remote swamps and rainforests of Africa"s Congo-Brazzaville, those who claim to have sighted Mokele-mbembe tend to describe it as being like a large sauropod dinosaur leading to the idea that it is a relic from prehistorictimes.
While there have been numerous eye-witness reports by locals and over 50 expeditions to the region no conclusive evidence of the creature has ever been found. The search for Scotland"s Loch Ness Monster is world famous. Far less well-known is the hunt for a similar creature, Mokele-mbembe, which is reputed to live in the remote north ofCongo-Brazzaville. But how strong is the evidence?
