
When Mark Wilkinson set sail on his new cruiser Titanic II was there any doubt over what would happen ?Setting sail off the British coast Mark enjoyed a successful fishing trip only to discover a large hole in the bottom of his boat, the Titanic II, as he returned to shore. Locals looked on as the small vessel disappeared beneath the waves. "It"s all a bit embarrassing and I gotpretty fed up with people asking me if I had hit an iceberg," he says.
When he took his new 16ft boat out for its maiden voyage, it lived up to its namesake, and sank. Mr Wilkinson was left floundering as the vessel sprang a leak and began taking on water before disappearing beneath the waves. Holidaymakers looked on while Mr Wilkinson, from Birmingham, was pulled out of the sea by the localharbour master.
