The legendary Knights Templar
were a military, monastic order with their main centre at Bernard de Clairvaux
in the east of France, and with Jerusalem as an important pole. For some centuries the
Knights Templar had an amazing cultural and large-scale financial influence in
Europe. It is believed that they had attained a special knowledge of biblical
and ancient oriental traditions, from Egypt - and from Moses. However, they suddenly
disappeared from history. Later, parts of the old tradition were observed still
to be in existence inside other societies and brotherhoods.
Secret Knowledge and Mysteries of Antiquity: Form the
earliest times existed different kinds of secret knowledge and cultic mysteries
- for instance initiation, cultic-religious mystery plays, and stellar science.
All this was available in the ancient civilized societies, e.g. in Egypt.
Even today certain forms can be seen in action among primitive people around the
world. At ancient times also knowledge and science seem to have been handed
down, thus giving their owners a special power. By
confident tradition and mythic metaphors, secret knowledge was handed down
through Antiquity into newer ages. In official religion-history contexts these
cults and the often high-ranking members of their societies are mostly
considered as exotic, collateral branches, although they had a decisive, genuine
importance in history.
When Moses
and the Israelites left Egypt, in 1455 BC, Moses had the temples plundered,
according to Manetho, the Greek-Egyptian historian (approx. 280 BC). The temple
archives, abducted by Moses at that time, have contained knowledge and data of
which the Europeans, several thousand years later, still wanted to get some
insight. Later, this became a special incentive to exploring expeditions - so
ardently occupying Knights Templar during the time of Crusades as well as
today’s archaeologists. At
an early age Moses was initiated in the knowledge of the ancient Egyptian
mystery cults. Later, influenced by Greek culture, they were maintained during
the times of Alexandria’s glory, approx. 330 BC till 330 AD Knowledge from

Aleister Crowley?s Lam & the Little Gray
Men: A Striking Resemblance by Ardane Steward
Preface
:This report presupposes two things: that there
are ?aliens,? and that some people (occultists) have ?magickal powers.? It is
not the point of this report to prove there are or are not such beings or
powers. What is known is that there are people who believe that there are such
beings and believe that they have such powers. The crux of this report is based
on what people believe, which may be very different from the way things really
are. Please bear this in mind.
This report also recounts some very curious
behaviors on the part of a number of people. These behaviors and events actually
did take place and are fact. However, the supposed results of these events are
entirely subjective and entirely in the realm of belief. It is not my purpose to
try to prove or disprove the beliefs of the people involved. It?s what they did
(and do) because of these beliefs that interest me.
Introduction: I first became curious about a possible
connection between the ?gray aliens? of popular UFO culture and the activities
of certain occultists after seeing several of UFO investigator Ray Fowler?s
books on the recommended reading list of a satanic website. In an idle moment I
had done a Google search on Ray?s book, The Watchers II, and one of the spots
that listed it - much to my surprise - was the recommended reading list of a
satanic group. (It is not my moral judgment that this group is satanic; the
group itself calls itself satanic.)
I found this both disturbing and inexplicable -
for what reason would a UFO book be included in the curriculum of a satanic
group, and why Ray's book in particular? I emailed Ray and asked him if he had
any insight into the situation, but he was as perplexed as I was. And there
matters rested for a year or so until additional information came into my hands,
information that may indicate - much as John Keel himself believed (Mothman
Prophecies) - that occult activity may be an ingredient of the ?gray alien?
mystery.
The pictures contained within this article bear
a resemblance and may hold the key. One is a drawing made by occultist Aleister
Crowley of an entity he had invoked repeatedly in 1918 and called ?Lam.? The
second picture is the cover image of Whitley Stieber's 1987 book, Communion.
Having noticed the similarity, I proceeded to investigate the connection.

To most of us, the word "alchemy" calls up the
picture of a medieval and slightly sinister laboratory in which an aged,
black-robed wizard broods over the crucibles and alembics that are to bring
within his reach the Philosopher's Stone, and with that discovery, the formula
for the Elixir of life and the transmutation of metals. But one can scarcely
dismiss so lightly the science -- or art, if you will --that won to its service
the lifelong devotion of men of culture and attainment from every race and clime
over a period of thousands of years, for the beginnings of alchemy are hidden in
the mists of time. Such a science is something far more than an outlet for a few
eccentric old men in their dotage.
What was the motive behind their constant
strivings, their never-failing patience in the unravelling of the mysteries, the
tenacity of purpose in the face of persecution and ridicule through the
countless ages that led the alchemists to pursue undaunted their appointed way?
Something far greater, surely, than a mere vainglorious desire to transmute the
base metals into gold, or to brew a potion to prolong a little longer this
earthly span, for the devotees of alchemy in the main cared little for such
things.
The accounts of their lives almost without
exception lead us to believe that they were concerned with things spiritual
rather than with things temporal. They were men inspired by a vision, a vision
of man made perfect, of man freed from disease and the limitations of warring
faculties both mental and physical, standing godlike in the realization of a
power that even at this very moment of time lies hidden in the deeper strata of
consciousness, a vision of man made truly in the image and likeness of the One
Divine Mind in its Perfection, Beauty, and Harmony.
To appreciate and understand the adepts'
visions, it is necessary to trace the history of their philosophy. So let us for
step back into the past to catch a glimpse of these men, of their work and
ideals, and more important still, of the possibilities that their life-work
might bring to those who today are seeking for fuller knowledge and wider
horizons.

Sixteen years ago, a heavy package addressed to the nonexistent "Smithsonian Inst. Curator, MezoAmerican Museum, Washington, D.C." was delivered to the National Museum of American History. It was accompanied by an unsigned letter stating: "This Aztec crystal skull, purported to be part of the Porfirio Díaz collection, was purchased in Mexico in 1960.... I am offering it to the Smithsonian without consideration." Richard Ahlborn, then curator of the Hispanic-American c... Read More
Anthony North: Of all the writers and researchers that have influenced me, none have been more important than Colin Wilson. Up to the age of 27 I"d never really thought of the paranormal, or writing, for that matter. But it all changed when I came down with chronic fatigue syndrome. My life had to change, become slower, quieter, and I thought, for the first time, about being a writer. However, I"d left school at fifteen, and had little in the way of education. Hence, I decided to educate myself.... Read More
The catholic church has revealed how growing interest in satanism and the occult has led to a rise in exorcisms across Queensland. One priest, who asked not to be named for fear of "reprisals", said he was carrying out at least one exorcism a fortnight. More requests for exorcisms came from the Gold Coast than anywhere else. An exorcism involves holy water, sacrament and Bible reading and can go on for many hours, the priest said. Linda Blair made the subject famous in the 1973 film, The Exorcis... Read More
Danny Penman: I was trained to be a cynical hard-nosed scientist. My PhD in biochemistry taught me that logic, rationality and devotion to the truth are the most important qualities for any scientist. When I became a journalist, I kept these values close to my heart. Recently my ‘rational' view of the world was shattered. Whilst researching a story on the late Princess Diana, I interviewed the medium Sally Morgan. Sally had, apparently, been receiving messages from the Princess. After tellin... Read More
The desire and models for direct, two-way contact with the otherworld is likely as old as we human beings. Anciently, there are ancestor cults, mushroom cults and shamanistic societies and the like. More historically recently, there are various forms and manners of occultism, Spiritualism, and very recently, the pop-culture phenomenon of ghost hunting. In another article, Gender, Heroes, and the Social Dynamics of Ghost Hunting, I pointed out the quite masculine, almost steroidal aura wi... The lower house of parliament in Tajikistan has endorsed a bill to try to tackle what it describes as fortune-telling and witchcraft. Those found engaging in superstitious activities could be fined $200 (£98). Belief in the occult is widespread in many former Soviet societies. The Tajik authorities say those claiming occult powers are charlatans. The bill still needs the upper house of parliament and the president to approve it, but this is considered a formality. Earlier this year President Emo... Read More
