What Happened to the Spirit of Innovation?
Over the years I've noticed, what I think, is a disturbing trend. Scientists seem to be becoming increasingly closed minded. "Not backed by mainstream science", is the phrase most often tossed about. One can almost hear the sneer in their voices as they talk about "fringe" science. Face it, scientists have become snobs. Of course, looking back, maybe they've always been a bit snobbish, but I digress. What they've forgotten is that at one time, all science was "fringe" science. Suppressed by the church, scientists were accused of heresy, some were tried and burned as witches. Yet, they pushed on skirting the boundaries of the universe. These early explorers of the unknown didn't have the knowledge that we have today, yet without them, we wouldn't have the knowledge we have today. What would have happened if these men had closed off their minds and not braved the unknown. Wat happened to the spirit of innovation that these men had. Where are the explorers of the unknown? I'll tell you where, they're sitting in a lab, using phrases like "mainstream" science, too afraid to step out from the safety bubble of what is "known". They've taken themselves too seriously for so long, that they've forgotten the first rule of science. It's all theory.

Science and the attitude of scientists, dungeoning...
Science and the attitude of scientists, dungeoning themselves within matter.

What is the attitude of scientists?

Or what are the attitudes of scientists?

There are those who have the metaphysics that matter is all there is in the whole totality of existence, of course they have to tell us what is their concept of matter.

I seem to observe that there are many of such scientists, in the sense that they willl not have anything to do with any concept of anything that is not to their mind belonging to the world of matter, again of course we have to ask them what is their concept of matter.

Then there are those in the minority who maintain but they tend not to come out openly that thee are things other than what is purely matter, again we want to hear from all scientists what is matter, specially as distinct from what is not matter.

So, I like to ask the people here who are enthusiasts of science specially the scientists who maintain that everything is matter and outside of matter there is nothing:

    What is matter?
