Archaeologists believe they may have located the final resting place of Jesus himself in Jerusalem.The team had been using a robotic arm to probe underneath a tower block in the city and discovered a 1st century Christian burial chamber. On one of the coffin lids is inscribed the words "Divine Jehovah, raise up, raise up." The find is only a short distance away from thepreviously discovered "Jesus Family Tomb" which generated great controversy in the 1980s when ossuaries found within seemed to be inscribed with the names of Jesus"s family.

Archaeologists exploring a 1st century Christian burial chamber have discovered an ancient inscription on a coffin lid which they believe could prove the site is the final resting place of Jesus.

The Vatican are investigating the remarkable claim made by Cardinal Paolo Romeo on a visit to China.The bizarre prediction was made to Chinese representatives of the Catholic Church who were so convinced he was talking about a planned assassination that they reported the incident to the Vatican. "Cardinal Romeo could never have imagined that the indiscreet remarks he made on thetrip to China would be communicated back to the Vatican by third parties," wrote an Italian newspaper.

The sensational prediction was allegedly made by Cardinal Paolo Romeo, the archbishop of Palermo in Sicily, on a recent visit to China. Cardinal Romeo reportedly made the startling prediction of the Pope"s death during a trip to China in November 2011.

A phone scheme that was originally set up as a joke has been attracting over 30 callers a day.The scheme has been so successful that the church board for the St Jan cathedral in Den Bosch has set up an 0900 number through which people can call up the angel which is actually nothing more than a taped message. The churchsays they are going to put the money towards the maintenance costs of the cathedral.

An angel with a mobile phone at the St Jan cathedral in Den Bosch can still be reached by her 06 number, even though the church authorities have introduced a premium rate line, the Telegraaf reports on Monday.

It"s a common sight to see an angel on top of a Christmas tree, but where did these beings originate ?There have been many different forms of angels over the centuries and they weren"t always depicted as winged beings bathed in light. At one time angels didn"t have a physical form at all and were considered to be disembodied minds, while another variation depicted them asfeathered guardians.

"There is lots of interesting theology about angels, and in some ways we"ve kind of lost the knack for that," said John Cavadini, chair of theology at the University of Notre Dame. In the Bible angels served as envoys of God—angelos being Greek for "messenger. " Other than that, the scriptures leave a lot of room for interpretation.
