Simcha Jacobovici believes he has located two of the nails used in the crucifixion of Jesus.In a new film entitled "The Nails of the Cross", Jacobovici details his research. "What we are bringing to the world is the best archaeological argument ever made that two of the nails from the crucifixion of Jesushave been found," he says.

Many ancient relics, including other nails supposedly traced back to the crucifixion, have been presented over the centuries as having a connection to Jesus. Many were deemed phony, while others were embraced as holy.

The Roman Catholic Church has warned that a rise in Satanism has produced a rise in demand for exorcists.Blaming the trend on easy access to information about Devil-worshipping on the internet the Vatican is holding a six day conference on the topic in Rome this week aimed at scrutinising Satanism and highlighting its risks. "The internet makes it much easier than in the past to findinformation about Satanism," says Carlo Climati who specialises in the dangers the practice poses to young people.

The web has made it easier than ever before to access information on Devil-worshipping and the occult, experts said. Exorcism is the subject of a six-day conference being held this week at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University in Rome, which is under the Vatican"s authority.

A thorn claimed to be from the crown Jesus wore during his crucifixion has gone on display in Britain.The relic has a long history, having been seized from Constantinople in 1200 AD and sold to King Louis IX of France while he was in Venice. Having spent the past 200 years in a school the thorn is now on display at the British Museumas part of a new exhibition, but is it really what it is claimed to be ? It was plundered in the Fourth Crusade, sold to French royalty and has spent the past 200 years in safekeeping at a British public school.

Now a relic claimed to be a thorn from Jesus"s crown is to go on display at the British Museum.

During the Russian Orthodox festival of Epiphany children have been baptised in freezing water.The highly controversial ritual has attracted much criticism when amateur footage of a child being immersed three times in freezing water was released online. "My son was eight when I first took him to an ice hole in ariver, four years ago," says Andrei Roletski who lives in Saint Petersburg.

When an amateur video of a screaming, naked boy being plunged by a priest into an ice hole in Siberia appeared on the web, it caused a massive outcry in the Russian media and blogosphere. The boy appears to be no more than five or six years old.
