Dr Francesca Stavrakopoulou believes that God had a wife that has been edited out of the Bible.Dr Stavrakopoulou is an atheist with a doctorate in theology, in a new BBC documentary she makes the case for the wife of God, Asherah - who would have sat alongside him and was presented as a deity inIsrael.

A leading academic has claimed that God has a wife who was edited out of the Bible. Atheist Dr Francesca Stavrakopoulou says that the Almighty, known as Yahweh, had a partner called Asherah who was worshipped.

Workers at a construction site in England believe they"ve seen the Virgin Mary in a satellite image.Looking down at the site using Google Maps the crew claimed to have made out the shape of Mary holding the baby Jesus in her arms. "It is so clear. We were looking at the layout of the area for some work we are doing and we were zooming in and itcaught our eye," says one worker.

Stunned workers at a construction site near the M6 claim to have found an image of the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus in a satellite image. Contractors Steve Hirst and Carl Richards were researching for a project they were working on and decided to look at a half-acre sand and mud site on Google Maps.

Lou and Lynn Balducci found the image in the wood of an old rocking chair that they"d had for years."He showed it to me and to a few of our friends and everyone agreed that it was indeed an image of Jesus," says Lynn. Believing it to be a sign and a blessing from God the couple are looking to share it with others in the hope thatit will bring them inspiration to live better lives.

An Orange County couple says they have found the image of Jesus in a wooden rocking chair that has been sitting in their backyard for years. Lynn Balducci tells KTLA her husband, Lou, discovered the image in the chair last week after they decided to throw away some old cushions.

A Confession app for the iPhone helps penitents examine their actions and seek spiritual guidance.As part of an ongoing effort to encourage followers of the Catholic Church to bring their faith in to atechnological age the Vatican has approved use of an iPhone app designed to make confessions and keep track of sins.

The app takes users through the sacrament - in which Catholics admit their wrongdoings - and allows them to keep track of their sins. It also allows them to examine their conscience based on personalised factors such as age, sex and marital status - but it isnot intended to replace traditional confession entirely.
