
A number of human skeletons and treasures have been found in a water-filled cave at Chichen Itza.Six humans in all were discovered ( including two children ) along with stone tools, jade beads and other items. Expedition leader Guillermo Anda believes that the find indicates the victims were sacrificed during a ceremony to please the Mayan rain god,Chaak.
The bones of six humans—including two children—jade beads, shells, and stone tools are among the Maya "treasures" recently found in a water-filled cave off a sinkhole at the famous archaeological site of Chichén Itzá (picture) in Mexico, archaeologists say.
