A man who had managed to get an eel stuck up his rectum sought assistance at an Aukland hospital.No explanation has been provided as to how the unnamed individual got himself in to such a bizarre predicament but a hospital spokesman has confirmed that the case was genuine. Fortunately doctors were able to remove the creature and the man waslater discharged and sent home."The eel was about the size of a decent sprig of asparagus and the incident is the talk of the place," said a spokesman.

"Doctors and nurses have come across people with strange objects that have got stuck where they shouldn"t be before, but an eel has to be a first." According to the Department of Conservation website, there are two main types of eelfound in New Zealand - the shortfin and the longfin.

Gary "Geordie Pantsman" Craig has beaten the world record by putting on 302 pairs of underpants.The 53-year-old had initially set a world record of 211 pairs but was later beaten by Janine Keblish with 252 pairs. Not to be outdone, Craig returned this week with another stab at the record and succeeded with a whopping total of 302 pairs. "It went very, very well and the official numberis 302," he said.

"I wanted to be the first person to put on over 300 pairs and I did it."The bizarre feat may sound straight forward but in actuality requires a considerable degree of skill and perseverance. "Putting on all those pants is harder than it looks because you"re carrying an incredible weight, but the crowd really spurred me on and kept me going," said Craig. Gary "Geordie Pantsman" Craig is celebrating afterregaining the world record for wearing the most pants.

22-year-old Ning Xuefa maintains that he has lived his whole life without eating a single scrap of food.Ning claims that he drinks several liters of water each day but that he never eats any food at all, a fact that his father has backed him up on by confirming that he only ever drinks water. Generally a person is unable to survive without food for more thana few weeks.

"As a student, I would always attend school with a huge bottle of water, but I wouldn"t ever touch food," said Ning. When he left school at 14 Ning became a manual laborer but was said to have experienced physical difficulties and fatigue as a result of his minimalistic diet. A 22-year-old man in Henan Province has managed to survive solely by drinking 15 kilograms of water a day - withoutever eating a bite of food.

If Luo Meizhen"s claim is accurate then she would be the oldest human being to have ever lived.Meizhen lives in China"s Guangxi province and has one son who she claims she gave birth to at the age of 61. Her alleged date of birth is believed to be August 25th, 1885 - making her a full five years older than the previously recognized record holder. Meizhencelebrated her 127th birthday with rice, pork, duck, chicken and cake.Despite many residents in China"s Bama County reaching 100 years of age, Meizhen"s claim of being 127 has been met with a considerable degree of skepticism.

By contrast, the oldest verified living person has only just turned 116. A woman from the Guangxi province of China is claiming to be 127-years-old, a figure that would eclipse theworld’s verified oldest person by five years.
