The famous shroud believed to depict the image of Christ may have been made by medieval artist Giotto.Controversy has surrounded the authenticity of the shroud for years, alleged to be the burial cloth of Jesus the shroud has been carbon-dated to the 13th-14th century. Now a new claim by Italian art expert Luciano Buso suggests the original shroudmay have deteorated so badly that medieval artist Giotto was tasked with producing a copy.

The Shroud of Turin was made by medieval artist Giotto, it was claimed yesterday. The 14ft length of fabric, said to be the burial cloth of Christ, bears a faint image of a man and appears to be stained by blood.

The Vatican has attributed many things to miracles over the years, but what exactly constitutes one ?One example of a case being investigated is that of young Jake Finkbonner who contracted a deadly flesh-eating bacterium and almost died back in 2006. Doctors had all but given up hope that he could be saved but after his family, friends and many others prayed for amiracle to happen one allegedly did - young Jake"s infection simply disappeared.

Pope John Paul II will be beatified in May, which puts him halfway toward sainthood. To have gotten this far, the Vatican must believe that the late pope is responsible for a miracle. Earlier this year, the Vatican declared that a woman was miraculously healed from Parkinson"s disease after sheprayed to the late pontiff.

Two skeletons found in a crypt are believed to be of two saints buried alive almost 2000 years ago.The remains are thought to be those of Chrysanthus and Daria, a husband and wife who were killed for spreading Christianity. "This has been a very rare opportunity to be able to study bones and other relics that relate directly back to a legend that has been passed on foralmost 2,000 years," says Ezio Fulcheri of the University of Genoa.

Two skeletons discovered in a crypt in an Italian cathedral are those of Christian saints who were martyred in ancient Rome, experts have claimed. Scientists say all the evidence suggests the bones do belong to Chrysanthus and Daria, who were killed in 283AD for spreading Christianity.

31-year-old Roisin McCourt believes she has found the face of Jesus Christ in a stained tea towel."When I took it out, I could not believe it," she said. "I could see it was Jesus straightaway. I took it to my husband, and he agreed with me." Whether the image on the towel is anything other than a random stain howeverremains to be seen.

A 31-year-old dance instructor from the British city says a bizarre brown stain that appeared on one of her tea towels actually shows the face of Jesus Christ. Roisin McCourt told Metro that the discolored spot is clearly recognizable as the face of a man with a beard and long hair.
