Ancient Astronauts

A growing doctrine within the New Age Movement claims that the origin of the gods, and the human race as we know it today, is the direct result of extra-terrestrial "UFO" activity.In the introduction to his bestselling book, CHARIOTS OF THE GODS?,   Erich von Daniken, who, it might be argued, is one of the fathers of the New Age Movement as it relates to ufology, said:“I claim that our forefathers received visits from the universe in the remote past, even though I do not yet know who these extra-terrestrial intelligences were or from which planet they came.  I nevertheless proclaim that these ‘strangers’ annihilated partof mankind existing at the time and produced a new, perhaps the first, homo sapiens.” As was illustrated in the Hollywood films Contact, and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Erich von Daniken's hypothesis took America by storm in the 1960's with the proposition that mankind was possibly the offspring of an  ancient, perhaps ongoing, extra-terrestrial experiment.  New Age ufologists like Daniken assert that the gods of mythology may have been themselves evidence of, and a reaction to, an encounter with other-world beings.  They claim that ancient men would have considered space travelers as gods and would have recorded their arrival, their experiments, and their departure, in hieroglyphs, megaliths, and stone tablets, as a "supernatural" encounter between gods and men.   Mr.

Daniken continues:“While [the] spaceshipdisappears again into the mists of the universe our friends will talk about the miracle—‘The gods were here!’....they will make a record of what happened: uncanny, weird, miraculas.  Then their texts will relate—and drawings will show—that gods in golden clothes were there in a flying boat that landed with a tremendous din. They will write about chariots which the gods drove over land and sea, and of terrifying weapons that were like lightning, and they will recount that the gods promised to return.  They will hammer and chisel in the rock pictures of what they had seen: shapeless giants with helmets and rods on their heads, carrying boxes in front of their chests; balls on which indefinable beings sit and ride through the air;  staves from which rays are shot out as if from a sun.”Von Daniken also claims that the odd appearanceof......

Ancient Astronauts Flaming Shields, Chariots of the Gods Flying Saucers, Spacesuits, Delta Wing Jets and Ray Guns depicted on everything from cave walls to ancient Egyptian temples - all surviving eyewitness accounts of UFO sightings in our most ancient past. Reports of unidentified flying objects appear even in our most ancient historical records. For anyone looking at the most ancient primitive cave drawings and petraglyphs.  it seems impossible now to take them for anything other than technology. Could travelers from outer space have visited this planet long ago? Could our ancestors have settled this planet as space colonists? Will our neighbors reveal themselves, when we are ready?

Carved in Stone: The ancient world occasionally speaks to us of strange things that the primitive people of the time attributed to The Gods. From the Nazca Lines of Peru to ancient aircraft of Egypt and India known as Vimanas; from the enigmatic and symbolic petraglyphs of Ancient America to the pantheons of European and Mediterranean gods; nearly every ancient culture, on every continent yet explored - it seems that every civilization in the world was at one time or another touched by beings from above. As mankind evolves and advances in technology, we are now becoming somewhat familiar with many of the things that obviously impressed our ancestors.

 We know that we are not gods, but what would ancient peoples think of most of the things we take for granted today? Would your ability to read evoke jealousy from their most revered scholars? Would a disposable lighter or ball point pen get you burned as a witch? And what would they make of your palm pilot - or for that matter, a harmonica? The two figures depicted in rock-art at Val Comonica, in Northern Italy (above right) easily appear to modern observers to be a literal and accurate representation of modern astronauts. Their bulky suits come complete with space helmets, and each are holding decives of some sort; one of their tools even looking remarkably like a sextant...

The term Ancient Astronauts generally refers to extraterrestrials who came to Earth and were in some way responsible for seeding the human race. The most notorious proponent of this idea is Erich von Daniken, author of several popular books on the subject. His best-selling Chariots of the Gods, published in 1968, argued that spacecraft landed long before modern humanity peopled the Earth.

The ancient visitors carried out breeding experiments and produced a creature intelligent enough to have the rules of society imparted to it. These new beings invented agriculture and became the first artists, then created their own warlike civilizations. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by an atomic bomb! The Ark of the Covenant was an electrified transmitter that allowed Moses to communicate with the astronauts! Von Daniken even claims that ancient astronauts - complete with space helmets - were carved on stelae at the Mayan city of Copan!

All of the ancient creational myths speak of Gods and Goddesses who came to Earth in some sort of magical scenario - or riding in chariots of fire - and creating a race called Humans. Most of these myths refer to their primary God as a Sun God meaning from the Light. In Egypt this God was called Ra, Re, Ray of Light. Creational legends are a global phenomenon. Records of the belief systems of ancient astronauts coming to Earth can be found on Rock Art ~~ Ancient Sumerian clay tablets and cylinder seals, and in the Bible. The Bible speaks of the Hebrew word 'Elohim', meaning 'God' or 'those who came from the sky'. Genesis Chapter 1:26, states 'And God said, let us make man in our own image, after our likeness'. This quote still uses the plural 'us' rather than the singular 'I', suggesting that God was not a single entity, as many of us have been brought up and conditioned to believe.

The Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh is filled with mentions of fiery chariots and people being taken up to the garden of God. The Epic also contains a whole host of parallels to our very own old Testament. For instance, it mentions a great flood, and relates a story very close to that of Moses being cast downstream as a child. The Sumerians also had an Eden, known as Dilmun, which is described in the Epic of Enki and Ninhursag - the creation stories of both texts bear striking resemblances. Years ago when I connected with a Reptilian race - this was long before I worked with Zecharia Sitchen and researched Nibiru and the Sumerians - I channeled with an alien who called himself Dilmon.
