A hotel in Romania has become a local attraction after a photograph of a ghost was published by newspapers and television. The ghost of a tall woman in a long white dress reportedly watches the hallways and staircases of the Decebal hotel, in the Baile Herculane mountain spa.The 150-year-old hotel isbelieved to hide ancient Roman treasure under its foundations and the ghost is said by locals to keep treasure hunters away.

The hotel has been closed for renovations for five years but people who have ventured inside claim to have seen - and photographed - the ghost.Victoria Iovan, 33, from Baile Herculane, said: "I photographed my boyfriend in the hotel. Back home I was shocked tosee another woman's shadow in the picture. She looked like a priestess in long white clothes."

Danny Penman: Marc and Marianne undressed themselves and quickly slipped under the duvet. Although the heating had been on for many hours, it was unusually cold in their normally snug bedroom. Soon they hoped to be as warm as toast and drifting off to sleep after a hard day looking after their boisterous three-year-old son Robert. Seconds later, Marianne was hit on the head by their son’s toy dog. She sat bolt upright in bed with a bemused look in her eyes. The cuddly toy was clearly aimed at her but who - or what - could have thrown it? Momentslater another stuffed dog hit her on the head.

She hardly saw it move. It seemed to have appeared on the edge of vision a fraction of a second before hitting her. And this time it hit with far greater force and, if she was honest, malevolence. Soon the air was thick with flying toys. All seemed to appear in mid flight, apparently from nowhere, and were hurled with great force at the petrified couple. Marc and Marianne hugged the duvet closer to try and protect themselves from the flying toys. The poltergeist had the same idea. An invisible hand grabbed the far corner of the duvet and pulled in the opposite direction. Soon they were involved in an etherealtug-of-war. In such a battle there could be only one victor and the poltergeist was determined to win. But then, just as quickly as it had started, the tugging stopped only to be replaced by something even more sinister. "Marianne, my body feels like its burning," said Marc in a panic-stricken voice. “What’s happening to me?”

I am a soldier in the US Army and was recently deployed to the Iraqi desert with a medical unit in support of OIF. We were in the middle of nowhere in these abandoned buildings, and several people have experienced "strange phenomena" while we were there, but this is my experience.

One night while I was on guard duty, our duty phone rang. My battle buddy and I assumed it was an emergency and someone was hurt, being that it was almost 2 a.m. I picked up the receiver and before I said anything, to my surprise there were several voices talking at once, and all in Arabic. They sounded frantic, but they also sounded like they were talking through cotton. I assumed it was a wrong number and hung up the phone.

My battle buddy and I looked at each other strangely, and I recorded the phone call in our log. The rest of the night went on without incident and we were relieved at 08:00. The soldiers replacing us went through the log and questioned the phone call incident. I told them what happened and they looked at me like I was crazy. I didn't understand until I looked at the phone cord behind the table. It wasn't plugged in.

Televisions crews, psychics and paranormal investigators have been flocking to a store in Gloucester, England, that seems to have video proof of the existence of ghosts.After finding the store a mess one morning staff at Poundstretcher on Eastgate Street examined CCTV footage of the night before. What shocked them was the sight of a ghostly figure of a Victorian woman pushing a whole pallet ofgoods to the ground.A bit of research shows that the shop stands on the site of an old Theatre - The Theatre Royal, later known as The Palace.

It was first opened in 1791 and closed in 1922. There have been previous stories of a haunting in the building. One such tale tells of a young woman who, it's said, took her own life, and was found hanging from a piece of theatre equipment beneath the stage. It's the ghost of this poor woman who staff claim to have captured on camera. The deputy manageress of Poundstretcher, Sue Cooper, told us it's not the first time she'scome into close contact with the apparition. She said, "You can often feel her presence, sometimes you can feel an icy cold. You can feel a gagging or choking, especially downstairs in the cellar."Pictures:Article Source
